Bible and History

Mrs. Baker teaching Bible.png

“for I will speak to you in a parable.  I will teach you hidden lessons from our past— stories we have heard and known, stories our ancestors handed down to us. We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders.”                      Psalm 78:2-4

Each day at Shiloh we begin with prayer, praises, and God's Word. Every three years, the children read through the entire Bible, finding that, as they grow, Scripture grows with them and begins to have a deeper meaning.

God's Word IS History.  Through the events, people, and places God has chosen to share with us in His Story, we learn from past failures and triumphs of those who came before us.  Recent history is studied in relationship with the history of the Bible; the two are not seen as separate times.  Children learn about their history and heritage through the use of great literature, biographies, documents - real occurrences about real events lived by real people.
